Des Moines Cold Storage! We are a family-owned warehouse company with over 100 years of experience serving our clients’ needs. Our story began in 1910 when my grandfather, Joseph William Muelhaupt, started this company, and we are proud to say that we are still going strong today.

Our state-of-the-art facility, Crossroads Cold Storage, spans over 111,000 square feet and is equipped to handle your growing processing and distribution needs. We take pride in being a member of reputable organizations such as the International Association of Refrigerated Warehouses and the World Food Logistics Organization.

Des Moines Cold Storage offers a wide range of services to meet your cold storage needs. Our facilities are USDA Class A certified and fully equipped with blast freezing capacity and refrigeration storage. We provide full-service facilities for frozen food processing and distribution and are approved to store products for the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. Additionally, our facilities are fully palletized and offer government identification services for exporting, certification, boxing, and defrosting.

With four cold storage facilities in Iowa and our extensive network, we offer day freezing and frozen food distribution throughout the Midwest. Our services include processing areas available for boxing and long-term lease, as well as cold storage in transit privileges. We even have a private railroad siding with free switching for your convenience.
